CHAIR, Global Jamaica Diaspora Youth Council

Asha Richards is a passionate advocate for human development, currently serving as the Administrative Associate at the Mayors Migration Council since March 2024. She also holds the position of 2024 Chair of the Global Jamaica Diaspora Youth Council, empowering young Jamaicans in the diaspora. Asha's diverse experience includes roles at the National Endowment for Democracy, Net Impact, Inter American Dialogue, and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation. She holds a BA in Political Science and International Studies from Virginia Wesleyan University and an MPA in Development Practice from Columbia University.

Teams will collaborate to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for these challenges, drawing on their creativity and diverse perspectives. A panel of judges will assess the solutions and determine which team has successfully addressed the issue, recognizing the most impactful and actionable ideas. The winning team will receive the prestigious Caribbean Innovation Award, positioning them as frontrunners for future opportunities, gaining exposure and recognition throughout the year. The winner will also serve as a leader and mentor, inspiring and guiding other young innovators in the Caribbean and beyond.
